August, 2010: After more than a year of dating, Cyrus and her Last Song beau Liam Hemsworth part ways. Though they appear to be back on by September, the couple splits again two months later. "There was no drama," a source tells PEOPLE. "The relationship just ran its course. They were good friends first and remain friends."
October, 2010: After 17 years of marriage, Cyrus’s parents, Tish and Billy Ray, announce they’re getting a divorce. "As you can imagine, this is a very difficult time for our family," the pair says in a statement. "We are trying to work through some personal matters. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers." In March, Billy Ray announces that he's calling off his divorce, saying, "I want to put my family back together."
December, 2010: Weeks after celebrating her 18th birthday, a leaked video shows Cyrus taking a bong hit of the legal herb salvia. "I'm scared for her," her father tells GQ in a revealing interview where he blames Hannah Montana for "destroying" his family. "She's got a lot of people around her that's putting her in a great deal of danger."
